As we continue to build Wintek fiber across the Tipmont electric service area, more and more members of our cooperative are familiarizing themselves with the benefits of blazing-fast fiber internet.

But residential connections are just one solution Wintek brings to our communities.

Wintek Business Solutions serves nearly 1,000 business customers across Greater Lafayette. This includes large-scale operations from companies like Wabash National, Caterpillar, Saab and Nanshan, as well as local institutions and iconic businesses like Purdue Federal Credit Union, Unity Hospital, McCord’s Candies and Silver Dipper. Wintek also serves all Purdue University residence halls and numerous Greek homes on campus, as well as many Greater Lafayette apartment complexes.

Providing internet service is a key aspect of Wintek Business Solutions but not the only one. We also offer private circuits that allow businesses to connect from point to point. Another key service is customized network design and management tailored to the specific needs of a business.

We also offer a state-of-the-art, 7,200-square-foot Wintek data center in Lafayette. Businesses can use this as their main data infrastructure or as a backup for recovery. It offers innovative safety, security and connectivity features for many local businesses, including:

  • Comprehensive 24/7 digital video surveillance
  • Biometric access
  • The ability to withstand winds of up to 150 miles per hour (or an EF-3 tornado)
  • A diesel / natural gas bi-fuel generator to maintain power in an outage

We’re excited to soon undertake an expansion of our gold-standard data center to serve more clients.

As you might expect: To serve the needs of these diverse business clients, Wintek’s network must be robust. Indeed, there are rigorous requirements for reliability that we must meet, and this is the same network we use to power our residential collections. So, our in-home fiber customers benefit from the reliability of Wintek Business Solutions as well.

A leading-edge network like ours also can attract new businesses to the area. As economic development opportunities arise, companies often ask about data infrastructure. A network as strong as Wintek’s can be a real feather in the area’s cap to attract new businesses. Through ongoing infrastructure improvement, Wintek Business Solutions is supporting economic development — in turn creating jobs and opportunities in a continuous, positive cycle for our communities.

Of course, this is a quick look at the capabilities and benefits of Wintek Business Solutions, which prides itself on the same local expertise and hometown support that strengthen our residential connections.
